In order to allow Merchant West Investments to focus on our core skill of managing investments, we have procured the services of Sanlam Collective Investments (SCI) to provide Merchant West Investments with Management Company (ManCo) services for our unit trust funds, as this is an efficient and cost-effective solution for these specialised administrative services.

The role of the SCI ManCo is to provide our company with the following range of services:

• Fund set-up, structuring and monitoring
• Legal and compliance alignment
• Relationship management with direct, intermediate, and institutional investors
• Risk management
  Fund distribution support
• Regulatory and tax reporting

Merchant West Investments has signed a discretionary mandate with Sanlam Collective Investments (RF) (Pty) Ltd “SCI” and Sanlam Global Funds PLC and is the appointed Investment Manager on specific co-named funds. SCI is the Manager of the Merchant West Sanlam Collective Investment Schemes (CIS), and Sanlam Global Funds PLC is the scheme manager of the Merchant West Global Equity Fund $. “Sanlam Collective Investments (RF) (Pty) Ltd “SCI” is a registered and approved Manager in Collective Investment Schemes in Securities. Collective investment schemes are generally medium- to long-term investments. SCI retains full legal responsibility for the third-party portfolio.

Co-branded Funds include the names or abbreviated names of both the Investment Manager and the Manager of the Collective Investment Schemes, which reflects as the following: Merchant West SCI* Fund.

Due to the regulatory and technical support provided to Merchant West Investments and its clients by SCI through their Manco, several of our documents include descriptions and branding elements of both entities as required by legislation. We also utilize the automated online services, customer service support and investment forms made available by SCI.
